Gordon Wolf is the subject of this week’s continuing series of people who “made a difference” in Marion. Gordon began working in his family business, Marion Creamery, in 1912 when he was 12, taking over its operation at age 28 following the death of his father.

Matt Kukuk has been selected student of the month for the Marion High School faculty. A junior, he is the son of Larry and Donna Kukuk or Marion.

Les and Celia Byer of Marion’s Flint Hills Clay Works are guest artists at the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg. They will display ceramic art works as part of the 96th annual Midwest Art Exhibition.

Adam Collett and Terese Vinduska were selected as Marion High School King and Queen of Courts during the Friday basketball game against Chase County.

The University of Kansas College of Liberal Arts and Sciences have recognized teachers for outstanding teaching selected by KU honor students and college scholars. Each student was asked to nominate two teachers who profoundly influenced their academic life. Marion High School teachers chosen were Bruce Rhodes, science teacher, and Grant Thierolf, history teacher.
