2 health employees to get overtime

County commissioners Monday changed two health department employees from salaried to hourly because of the number of hours they are working during the COVID-19 epidemic.

The two employees are the health department office assistant and an assistant emergency manager whose time is shared between the health department and the emergency management department.

The two will be able to collect overtime. Before the change, they accumulated comp time.

The change is temporary, to last through the epidemic, and their pay will be changed back to salary when the epidemic ends.
