Gordon Wolf is subject of this week’s continuing series of people who made a difference in Marion. Gordon began working in his family business, Marion Creamery, in 1912 when he was 12, taking over its operation at age 28 after the death of his father.

Junior Matt Kukuk has been selected student of the month by the Marion High School faculty. His parents are Larry and Donna Kukuk of Marion.

Les and Celia Byer of Marion’s Flint Hills Clay Works are guest artists at Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg. They will display ceramic artworks as part of the gallery’s 96th annual Midwest Art Exhibition.

Adam Collett and Terese Vinduska were selected as Marion High School’s king and queen of courts during a basketball game Friday against Chase County.

The University of Kansas College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has recognized high school teachers identified as outstanding by KU honor students. Each honor student was asked to nominate two teachers who profoundly influenced their academic life. Marion High School teachers chosen were science teacher Bruce Rhodes and history teacher Grant Thierolf.
