A single engine Beech Bonanza crashed Tuesday after taking off from the Hillsboro Airport. Two Marion County men, Blaine Briggs of Marion and Dennis Klassen of the Canada community were seriously injured and Paul Rundstrom, Hillsboro insurance executive, died that afternoon at the KU Medical Center.

The 180-foot tower for the Marion Cable TV was being erected Wednesday.

Margaret Wolf, who is retiring as executive secretary for Hilltop Manor, is the subject of this week’s “Personality Profile.”

Weddings reported in this issue include those of Rhonda Swinney and Kim Martin on June 10 at Burdick; Debra Smith and Kendall Krause on May 28 at Wilsey; Mariann Elling and Douglas Thompson on June 10 at Marion; and Diane Sommerhauser and Paul Kraus on May 27 at Wichita.

Jo Marie Mueller received a BS in accounting at Kansas State University this spring and has accepted a position as staff accountant with Peat, Marwick and Mitchell in Wichita.

A triple by Casey Case coupled with an error on the relay throw from the outfield provided the winning run for Marion in last Wednesday’s extra inning Senior Babe Ruth contest against Junction City.
