The board of directors of Hospital District #1, which owns St. Luke Hospital, announced at the annual meeting Friday that “plans for the future are to build a clinic for physicians.”

Pictured on the front page is Harold Triggs as he cases mail at Florence post office. Triggs began as clerk in 1966 and now is postmaster. He has moved back to Florence from his duties as postmaster at Lincolnville for the past seven years.

Errors seem to compound themselves. For two weeks in a row, the newspaper mistakenly identified the parents of David Mueller. There is a Werner and an Arnold Mueller. They both live near Tampa also. However, David’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mueller.

This week’s “Personality Profile” by Ruth Meyer features the history of Cy Goertz, farmer and raiser of Herefords. The Goertz family lives northwest of Marion.

Eighty-eight Marion High School students enjoyed going to the Sedgwick County Zoo last Wednesday to collect information about the zoo’s plant and animal life exhibits. Otis the chimpanzee spurred Neletha Nelsen, Julie Hett, Janice Wiens, Elaine Nuss and Carla Jost into mimicking the ape calls and gestures and then splashed them with rainwater.
