The picturesque little fountain in Central Park is back in action, spurting—but not wasting—water. Through the combined efforts of ladies from Dawn and Athena clubs, spurred on by Norma Hannaford, who developed the project, funds were solicited to construct a circulating pump for the fountain. It was installed by A.J. Coe and is now in daily operation. Ladies of the committee say they appreciate the generous response to their plea. The project is now complete.

Fastest gun in the west is Larry Lalouette of Cedar Point. He won the U.S. Open Fast Draw Championship in Phoenix, Ariz., and July 4 won the Kansas Blank Elimination Championship at El Dorado. Lalouette is doing the California Twist, a fast draw technique that would have left Matt Dillon on Boot Hill.

Edward J. Hett, son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Hett, Marion, is one of 23 medical students who began clinical training at the University of Kansas School of Medicine Wichita branch, last month.

Bernie Waner was winner of the Fourth of July mixed golf tournament at Marion Country Club. Chris Costello, Forrest Smith, and Matthew Classen tied for first place in the first flight. Louise Wood and Doug Webb tied for first place in the second flight. David Blackim and Roger Hannaford III tied for first place in the third flight.
