Lynn Christensen and John Christensen met with the city commission Monday afternoon in regard to a proposed new building they are planning on West Main.

More than 330 persons were registered when the first in a series of drawings was held Sunday during Marion’s annual “Christmas Opening.” Tena Maggard, Marion, won the $50 first prize. Esther Sanders of Marion won the $10 fourth prize. Second and third prizes were not awarded since the persons were not present to claim them.

Randy Ewert is pictured showing Dennis Bernhardt and Brad Herbel some of the proper procedures in electrical wiring. Ewert is a graduate student from Kansas State University doing student teaching at the Marion High School vocational agriculture department.

Double ring wedding vows were exchanged Nov. 10 by Leona Louise Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Richmond of Marion, and Ronald A Hajek, son of Mr and Mrs. Albert Hajek of Lost Springs.

Hurt by graduation and lacking a big center, Marion—last year’s CVL champion—is expected to finish fourth this year.

As a holiday season special, free hook-ups are being offered by Marion Cablevision to those who apply during the month of December. This is said to be a savings of $20 over the normal charge, according to the city commission.
