The age-old question about moving US-56 to a location approximately one mile north of its present route between Marion and Hillsboro will be discussed again Jan. 8 in Marion Municipal Building. The meeting has been scheduled by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT).

Construction work continues on the new Marion National Bank building at the corner of Main and South Third streets.

Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors are pictured presenting first dollar of profit plaques to Don Rogers of Kansas Drilling and Well Service, Jack Richmond of Marion Manufacturing, and Lavern Kerbs, manager of HRK, a damaged freight outlet owned by Bill Hilligoss of Wichita that opened two weeks ago.
