Easter Bunnies Shirley Jo Hett and Kathy Sprowls enjoyed entertaining excited youngster during the first-ever Marion Easter Egg Hunt held Saturday. The two bunnies spent all morning passing out special eggs to children and listening to fond wishes for a bountiful visit the following morning.

Janice A. Wiens, 1980 graduate of Marion High School and a sophomore majoring in nursing at Hutchinson Community College has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Lutheran Hospital and Homes Society. The award was announced Friday by Steve McCourt, St. Luke Hospital administrator.

“Singing Grannies,” from the senior center visited Marion Manor Monday and entertained residents with songs. The “Grannies” include Natalie Wheeler, Alice Davies, Lydia Batt, Gladys Pfizenmaier, Dorotha Gutsch, Dola Meierhoff, Martha Ottensmeier, Florence Slocombe, and Catherine Ensey.

First Federal Savings and Loan sponsored an Easter promotion last week in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce promotion. Members of the Children’s Savings Club were required to blow and decorate eggs. Winners were Eric Albrecht, Kristy Herbel, Eric Thies, Brian Wunderlick, and Allison Ogden. Winner of the $25 certificate was Kathy Sprowls — one of the Chamber of Commerce Easter bunnies.
