Senator Nancy Kassebaum will be speaker at the annual banquet and membership meeting of Marion County Farm Bureau Saturday evening at St. Mark’s Activity Center.

Lisa Richmond was crowned 1982 football homecoming queen Friday night at Warrior Stadium. Richmond is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delton Richmond of rural Florence.

Blair Post, a native of Marion, has been named regional sales manager of the copier products division for Toshiba of America, Inc. He and his family live in the Kansas City area.

Centre homecoming queen and king will be named Friday evening prior to the football game between the Centre Cougars and Sedgwick. Queen candidates are Teresa Cott, Jackie Tajchman, Vickie Tajchman, and Anita Kristek. This year’s king candidates are Mark Meyer, Alan Svoboda, Greg Jirak, and Kerry Nickel.

Marion Community Arts Council and the Mud Creek Players will host an evening of singing and melodrama Nov. 12 at St. Mark’s Activity Center. A meal of beef stew, homemade bread, and fruit cobbler will be served by singing waiters and waitresses during the performance of “The Labors of Love” by the Mud Creek Players.

Duckwall employees Betty Lee, Janie Meierhoff, and Sandy Bina presented store manager Bill Holmes with a t-shirt Saturday in honor of “Boss Day.” Letters on the shirt says “To the Boss from the Jolly Workers.” Each employee wore a matching shirt stating “The Jolly Worker.”
