An instruction and demonstration of the Jaws of Life was given Thursday afternoon at the Marion city shop. Attending were persons from throughout the county and from Newton and McPherson. The group included ambulance and fire department personnel, city and county commissioners and officials, law enforcement officers, and others.

Tickets go on sale Saturday for the Marion Community Arts Council dinner-theatre Feb. 18. The dinner will be catered by Kingfisher Inn at the Marion County Lake hall. The Mud Creek Company will present two comedies.

Marion Community Arts Council is sponsoring a concert by the Emporia State University a Cappella choir Sunday afternoon at Marion Municipal Auditorium. The concert is to benefit the choir’s upcoming tour of Europe this summer. Three Marion students, Mrs. Norman Plenert, Steve Smith, and Van Kerns, are members of the choir.

Gene Winkler, manager of Marion’s Goodyear Farm Tire Center, is the featured person in this week’s “Personality Profile” by staff writer Ruth Meyer.

Marion federated clubs are sponsoring an art display from Feb. 6 through 10 at the Marion Sears store. Marion High School students who will be displaying their work include Jeff Griffith, Becky Vinduska, Miriam Priest, William Kroupa, Doug McElhiney, Doug Heerey, Kelly Bartlett, Troy Bridges, John Slifer, and Theresa Kroupa.
