County Engineer Bernard Reams resigned Monday during a lengthy executive session called by the Marion County Commission. Reams has accepted a position as design engineer with the Unit Rig Co., of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a firm that designs and builds heavy equipment.

The subject of this week’s “Personality Profile” is Lynn Christensen, owner of Lynn’s Truck and Tractor, an ordinary sounding name for one of the biggest farm machinery business organizations in the Midwest.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Suderman were hosts at a dinner at their spacious farm home southwest of Marion honoring a special guest, Alvaro Guimaraes of Lisbon, Portugal. Guimaraes, a miller, is touring Kansas studying wheat farming and its marketing business.

Robert Collins of Wichita, trustee of the trust fund established by the wills of the late Anna and Nellie Ryan of Florence, has presented $10,000 checks to the Flint Hills Girl Scout Council and to Tabor College at Hillsboro. The Ryan sisters directed that their estates be used for charitable, religious, and educational purposes.

Marilee McGinness, a graduate of Marion High school and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed McGinness of the Aulne community, will be a member of the first class of the Oral Roberts University School of Medicine.

Tony Winter, fifth grader and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Winter, is pictured on his bicycle as he enjoys the perfect spring days of the past week.
