Dick and Dennis Maggard have announced they will open their Main Street Auto Repair on Monday at 124 E. Main, former Cook Motors service shop.

Rick Lange and his mother, Mrs. Larry Lange, brought in a 10-pound, 22-inch-long zucchini. They have the biggest zucchini to date entered in the annual Marion County Record produce derby.

Marion-based county ambulance crew members outfitted their new ambulance Wednesday with emergency supplies and radio. EMTs pictured are Lucille Britain, Bob Matz, Randy Rediker, Sharon Lundgren, Bill Holmes, Harvey Sanders, A.J. Coe, Ed Sandwell, and Richard Britain.

An article by special feature writer Ruth Meyer tells that Florence can be justly proud that its Harvey House, the first to be opened by the Santa Fe Railroad as a railway hotel and restaurant, has been spared the ravages of most pioneer buildings and is in usable condition today.

Fresh fruit pies sold like hotcakes Saturday during the weekly Farmers Market. Alvina Hoffman and her husband, Earl, set up a table on Main Street. At $2 each, customers quickly outnumbered pies.
