This week’s personality profile is devoted to David Blackim, who came to Marion in March, 1911, from Glasgow, Scotland, at the age of 3. He spent his youth here and after 22 years away in a pharmacy-related profession, he has returned to Marion, where he occasionally is able to slip back into his career role.
Christine Laue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Sanders, was 8 years old Feb. 8. Because of a 14-inch snowfall that day, her birthday party was Feb. 13.
Guests were her sister, Carol; Lucy and Lilly Guerra; Tina Holub; Melissa Johnston; Jennifer McLain; and Denice Winter.
Donna Hayen surprised husband Max and son Brent last week when she had Sandy Kramer bake specially decorated cakes for their birthdays.
Brent is a Royals fan, and Max enjoys flying his 1946 vintage Maytag Messerschmidt. No fan of the plane, Donna had it stuck in the frosting.
The 1980 edition of “Who’s Who in Music” will carry the names of six vocalists from Marion High School. They are Brian Bowers, John Dyck, Julie and Lori Hett, Theresa Kroupa, and Linda Schaffer.
