At a special meeting Tuesday afternoon of Marion County commissioners, Cedar Rest, the county-owned nursing home in Peabody, was sold to a pair of Chicago real estate investors.

Kansas Bluegrass Association will present Bluegrass in the Park, a three-day jam session this weekend at Marion County Lake.

Among musicians expected to play is the Nelson Funk family of Hillsboro, known professionally as the Bluegrass Jayhawkers.

Ron Wineinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wineinger of Marion, is one of two candidates for governor at American Legion Boys State on the campus of the University of Kansas at Lawrence.

Douglas B. Westerhaus of Marion has announced his intention to file by petition for county attorney on the Republican ticket.
