Happy Hustlers

Vivian Shroeder gave a talk titled “Who’s the fluffiest member of my 4-H family,” and Antonia Baxa led the group in playing a game called “Poison Dart Frog” when Happy Hustlers 4-H club met Aug. 4 at Marion County Lake hall.

Rylee Thomas presided, Antonia led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Ruby Schmidt led the 4-H Pledge.

Twenty-four members, two leaders, eight parents, and three guests answered roll by naming their favorite fair activity.

Evelyn Baxa led the group in singing “Happy Birthday” to those with August birthdays.

Clayton Thomas talked in a parliamentary report about standing during roll call and when talking to the president.

Members decided to donate toward fair awards and a Friends of 4-H meal and to have an information table at Marion Elementary School’s open house.

They were urged to start working on record books.

Refreshments were served by the Thomas family. The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Sept. 8 at the lake hall.
