One of Marion’s fire fighting units made an emergency run to Abilene Saturday night to help in fighting a huge fire at the Security Milling Company there. Those who went with the unit were Chief Hazel Meierhoff, Leroy Hoffman, and Harlow Warneke.

Ninety-seven members of the St. Luke Hospital Baby Alumni Association were present Oct. 20 for the annual “Baby Day” party held at the city building. Jacqueline Sue Richmond, six-week-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Richmond, won a prize for being the youngest member at the party.

The Look Who’s Here column in this week’s issue announces the birth at St. Luke Hospital of Tracey Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Powell of Marion, on Oct. 20, as yet unnamed boy, born Oct. 24 to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bayes of Burns, and a boy, also unnamed at press time, born to Mr. and Mrs. Gene F. Winkler of Marion on Oct. 25.

Mr. and Mrs. George Vinduska, Mr. and Mrs. Al Bosh, and Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Vinduska made a weekend visit to Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., where their sons, Kenneth Vinduska, Jimmie Bosh, and Laurence Tajchman are in military training.

Seventy-five were present at the Marion County Lake recreation hall for a reunion of the Helmer family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rollings and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Helmer of Augusta were hosts. Mrs. Ezra Boese was elected chairman for the coming year.
