The Marion Industrial Development Corporation has bought the interest in MarBowl Lanes of the two original promoters from Eureka and that of Cleo Herman. The name will be retained and Herman will remain as manager, it is stated.

The 1963 wheat harvest in Marion County is in full swing this week and a roundup report of neighborhood elevators indicates that it will be a good one—“better than expected” in most areas.

Mrs. Robert Hoover planned and carried out a surprise party for her daughter, Sandra, June 8 on her ninth birthday. Invited guests were Debra Vogt, Chris Vogt, Gerry Warneke, Diane Weber, Jill Musgrave, Patti Vinduska, and Laura Brose.

The new Southwestern Bell Telephone Company building here is complete and work is proceeding on installing equipment for the changeover to dial service.

Sue Lewerenz is camp director of “Windy Hollow,” Girl Scout Day Camp to be held four days this week at the county lake. Peggy Thies of Hillsboro is assistant director and business manager; Bettie Batt, assistant business manager and buyer; Louise Wood and Janice Case, site chairmen; Laurel Schroeder, camp nurse; Bula Staub, music director; and Pat Vogt, in charge of arts and crafts.

Mr. and Mrs. Percy Smith of Lincolnville will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary June 16 with an open house at their home.
