The annual Community Guild Banquet will be held in the Marion City Building basement Sept. 17. A program of fun and laughter is planned.

The congregation of the Marion Evangelical United Brethren will meet for the first time Sunday in their splendid new church building on East Main. More than 230 members and their families took part Wednesday evening in a moving ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Classen and their two children, former residents of El Dorado, now make their home at 702 Sherman. Mr. Classen is executive vice president of Marion National Bank.

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Weber of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret Ann, to A/3c Ora N. Hett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Het. No wedding date has been set.

Mrs. Rex Clothier was hostess Saturday morning to a “welcome coffee” honoring Mrs. Charles Schmidtberger, who recently moved to Marion. Guests present included Mrs. Ezra Helmer, Mrs. Frank Boyle, Mrs. Don Seibel, Mrs. Will Helmer, Mrs. Robert Oller and Mrs. Roland Vogel.

The U.S. Navy recruiting service at Emporia has announced the enlistment of Larry, Harry and Garry Winter, triplet sons of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Winter of Peabody. The enlistees are en route to San Diego, Calif., for recruit training.
