A serious fire of undetermined origin threatened the entire building, which houses the Gamble store in Marion, Thursday night.

A woman shoplifter, classed as a “professional” apparently was at work in Marion and Hillsboro on Monday of the week. She hit Jackson’s store here for an estimated $100 worth of shirts and sweaters, and about a half-hour later lifted merchandise from Groening’s in Hillsboro.
