Three school districts for Marion County was the plan decided upon last week by the Marion County School Planning Board after many meetings on the subject. The vote was four to two in favor of the plan. The proposal will be placed before the voters of the school districts under the MCPC jurisdiction in June.

An election will be held Jan. 18 to vote on the formation of a watershed district including all the land that drains into Middle Creek.

Roger Morse, Marion attorney, has purchased the building three doors west of the post office, in the 400 block of Main Street, and will remodel it with the intention of moving his law office there.

The West Side Motel will reopen in Marion soon, probably in about 10 days, according to Leroy Newton who will operate it.

Janet Stika was guest of honor Tuesday evening after school at a birthday party. Girls who helped her celebrate were Becky Wood, Teresa Case, Teresa Turk, Cynthia and Cindy Weddle, Dotty Lentz, Lisa Holmes, Jeannie Widler, Beverly Bowers, Vickie and Cora Klassen, and Rita Stika.

Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Amick of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter, Virginia Kay, to Albert Lee Steele, son of Mrs. Lula Steele of Neodesha.
