Thirteen talented, attractive young women are entered this year in the Marion County Fair Queen contest. Included are the following from Marion: Diane Nickel, Connie Warneke, Donna Hanschu, and Judy Broadstreet.

An open house at the nearly completed Marion County Home for the Aged will be held Sunday afternoon. The institution, which replaces the county home known as “Cedar Rest,” is located at 4th and Peabody in Peabody.

Weddings announced in this issue include those of Naomi Stenzel and Howard Babb, August 2; Nancylee Davidson and Marion Summervill, August 8; and Judy Loewen and LeRoy Dick, August 7.

Ruby Winkley was hostess to a slumber party at the Lawrence Winkley home Wednesday of last week. Those attending the party were Janice Hoffman, Sandra Winkley, Carolyn Powell, and Kathy Klein.

Lincolnville Girl Scouts will sponsor a family picnic at 5 p.m. August 23 in Amelia Park. A Court of Honor and Brownie Fly-up will follow the supper.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schwartz and Thane entertained with a party Thursday evening honoring the first birthday of their daughter, Peri Ann.

Mrs. Merle Douglas and infant daughter Melinda Kay were honored with a baby shower August 10 at the Clayton Hamm home. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Harold Bell and Mrs. Hamm.
