Marion now has a modern horseshoe pitching ground in Central Park, which is lighted at night by the City of Marion. The team is entered in an eight-team league and plays games weekly.

The people of Antelope, a village not large in size, but proud, now share a distinction with other and larger towns and cities across the United States. A ship of the Navy has been named after their town. The vessel was launched June 18, 1966, and is being outfitted in Tacoma, Washington. The officers and men of the ship are curious to learn more about the town and invite anyone with information to write to them.

Pam Crofoot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Crofoot of Cedar Point, was crowned Tri-County Fair 4-H Queen Friday evening in Herington.

Gene and Greg Bowers, Randy and Mark Collett, and Steve Matz camped out at Elk from Sunday until Tuesday afternoon. This was their fourth annual camp-out.

The team sponsored by Jackson’s Clothing Store won the Midget tournament in the summer youth program.
