The American Legion posts of Marion and Lincolnville have scheduled celebrations for the Veterans Day holiday. In Marion, the event will be held in the Legion hall with the public invited. Games, home cooked food, and door prizes are offered. A similar program of games and meals are offered at the Lincolnville Legion hall.

Maurice Williams, star Marion Warrior football player, was introduced at Kiwanis Monday as the “junior member” for the month of November.

Mrs. Hannah Kruse’s reading class presented the play, “Ghost in the House,” by Helen Louise Miller on the Wednesday before Halloween All 31 members of the class had a part in the play. In addition to other reading classes, parents and friends also came to the play, which was given in the multi-purpose room at Bown Corby School.

There were no winners in this week’s Cash Days drawing. Those missing out by not being there were Johnnie Petker, Hillsboro, who missed receiving $100; Mrs. Joe Gaines, Peabody, $5; Melvin Bartel, Lehigh, $10; Wayne Wharry, Marion, $15; and Kenneth Nienstedt, Marion, $10.

Twentieth Century Club members and their husbands enjoyed a Halloween party Saturday at the Reuben Zerger home. The Rosse B. Cases and Dave Robinsons were awarded prizes for the best costumes.
