Shirley Hamm, fourth grade student and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Hamm of Marion, was the lucky winner of the four-year-old pony “Smokey” at the big drawing last Friday night. Other prizewinners were Brook Beaston, chemistry set; Donna Anderson, doll; Frankie Tajchman, pool table; and Darlene Pecinovsky, Tampa, Magnatel game.

Lester Griffith, Marion County agriculture agent, will be president of the Marion Kiwanis Club in 1964.

Winners in the Chamber of Commerce Christmas lighting contest were announced this week. First place in home decorations went to Charles Bredemeier Jr. and second to Glenn Kline. Edward Good received third. Honorable mention went to Ira Newcomer and Wilbur Razor. First prize in church lighting went to the Methodist Church, second to the Presbyterian Church, and third to the Christian Church.

Mrs. Essie V. Johnson of Strong City is the winner of a new station wagon in a nationwide contest sponsored by the B.F. Goodrich Tire and Rubber Company. The ticket that Mrs. Jonson posted to win was made out at Bud’s Conoco Station in Marion, B.F. Goodrich distributor for this area.
