Former Marion school superintendent Wm. Wygle, Mrs. Wygle, and daughters will be spending next year at Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he will work on his doctorate at the University of Arkansas.

Marion Cub Scouts held a fishing derby at the county lake last weekend. Prizes were awarded to Randal Mott who won a new reel for catching the longest fish, a 17-inch channel; Jeff Longhofer received a small tackle box for catching the smallest, a 3½-inch catfish; and Jack Loomis who won a rod for catching an 8-inch crappie. Mike Ewert caught the most fish, 28, and was awarded a tackle box.

State Highway Patrol Trooper Frank Boyle has been reassigned to new location. He will be stationed at Derby, a Wichita suburb. Boyle has been at Marion for five years, sharing the duty in this area with Trooper Rex Clothier.
