Eight seniors make up the 1965 graduating class of Tampa High School. They will be the last class to graduate from that school as it will be consolidated with Centre Rural High School after this year.
The eight members of the class are Rose Mary Beisel, Mary Ann Frick, Rose Mary Holub, Larry Eugene Kleiber, John Patrick Moffitt, James Werner Mueller, Robert Keith Mueller, and Kenneth Robert Novak
Two of Marion High School’s golf stars, Mike Wood and George Jackson, led the way for some 60 young golfers at the State Regional Sand Greens Meet in Augusta Saturday and brought home the top honors.
The famous “Six Fat Dutchmen” are coming to Pilsen where they will be featured May 19 at Frank Svitak’s Starlite Ballroom.
Maude Firebaugh, who has worked the longest number of years at St. Luke Hospital, characterizes the theme of this year’s observance of National Hospital Week, “People—Heart of the Hospital.”
Maude started her nursing career a few years prior to World War I and hopes to continue for many years to come.
Gene Schimpf, outstanding Marion senior athlete, will be a contestant in the state track meet at Wichita State University on Saturday. He will compete in the shot put event.
