5 named to all-state teams
Hillsboro High School’s state-champion basketball team received additional honors this past week.
Two Trojans were named first-team all-state for Class 2A by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association. A third was an honorable mention.
They weren’t the only county players honored. A member of Hillsboro’s girls team was an honorable mention in Class 2A, and a member of Centre’s boys team was an honorable mention in Class 1A Division 2.
The county’s first-team all-staters are 6-foot Hillsboro senior Matt Potucek and 6-foot-1 Hillsboro junior Brekyn Ratzlaff.
Brekyn’s cousin, 6-foot-7 senior Grayson Ratzlaff, was honorable mention.
Also honored were 5-foot-11 senior Luke Hudson from Centre and 6-foot sophomore Zaylee Worth from Hillsboro.
