A quintet of Marion High School runners ran swift enough to earn medals Thursday in a cross-country race at Hesston Golf Course that included runners from 48 1A to 6A schools.
Emily Hague took second in a senior girls’ race with a time of 23 minutes, 23 seconds.
Colin Williams placed 7th in a junior boys’ race at 19:27.
Meggan Frese, Bethany Grimmett, and Ethan Darnall also medaled.
“Everyone on our team improved in some way during this meet,” coach Dmitry Bucklin said. “Some improved times. Others improved their overall finishing places. Most importantly, everyone improved on their effort and how much they put into their race.”
The Warriors run again Thursday at in Herington.
