The Roll-In Skating Rink, popular local recreation pavilion at the north edge of town on Walnut Street, will re-open this weekend according to an announcement by the new proprietors. The rink has been closed since the flood last summer. Jack Adams and Jerry Hett have leased the building from Pearl Ratts and will keep it open three evenings a week.

During the past week, two separate groups did a good turn for their neighbors. Twenty-five men and their tractors plowed 210 acres for Ed Stenzel last Friday. A similar group, with 24 tractors, gathered on Monday and finished 110 acres for George Bina. Both men are currently hospitalized and unable to do their plowing.

Gerald Tajchman, who plays on the Marion Junior Legion baseball team, broke his leg Wednesday evening while playing in the Marion-Wamego game at the district tournament in Emporia. Both bones were broken just above the ankle.

Mrs. Charles Bredemeier Jr. entertained with a party Sunday afternoon honoring her daughter, Shirley Anne’s, sixth birthday. Guests were Jeanne Kelsey of Peabody, Bobby and Connie Judd and Bill Foster of Cottonwood Falls, France Kay Sanders of Antelope, Chuck Bredemeier, Melody Thompson, Mary Good, Barbara and Margaret Weber, Connie Stage, and Mary Ellen and Bonnie Jean Slifer.
