The new Wingerd’s IGA Super Market that has its official opening Friday and Saturday of this week is one of the finest stores of its kind in the state. Owners of this fine new store are Mr. and Mrs. K.C. Wingerd.

Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Ward announce the marriage on Oct. 11, 1952, of their daughter, Alice, to Cpl. James K. Richmond, son of Mrs. Ray Kelsey.

Eddie Holub, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Holub of Tampa, a polio victim since 1949 at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, had the exciting thrill of talking to Gene Autry Thursday morning. He was interviewed and tape-recorded Friday which was broadcast from KFH, Wichita, on the 11:30 a.m. program.

The eighth grade class will present two one-act plays Jan. 19. Cast for “Life of the Party” includes Warren Gardner, Mary Lou Conyers, Jeanne Kline, Johnsie Just, Robert Eckstrom, Joyce Ubben, Joyce Pientka, Betty Matthews, Bill Meredith, John Shull, Roland Vogel and Michael Seaton. The second play, “Life With Bobby Sox: will be presented by Margaret McClain, Jan Blackwelder, Bill Burkholder, Margie Bernhardt, Patricia Dixon, Wayne Bratton and John Minear.

Lt. Col. Elmer Hollar, son of Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Hollar, Marion, has been appointed to head a gigantic display of 400 jet planes coincidental to the inaugural parade of Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower as president.
