Director Kenneth Swanson has prepared a program for the Marion High School concert band’s appearance Thursday night that includes a wide range of music. General features will be in combined group numbers, although one will be a saxophone quartet composed of Pat Kruse, Carolyn Merrill, Carol Miser and Wanda Propp.

Walter Allen, who recently retired from the postal service as a rural mail carrier, is now with Gound Motor Company where he will be a salesman.

Mr. and Mrs. Jay Beaston moved their market and grocery into the building they recently purchased, the Winchester building across Main Street from their former location. The building they vacated will be torn down. The space, together with the sites of two other ancient buildings recently razed, will be used by Gound Motor Co., as a display lot.

Juanita Jo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ford, Marion, and Carl Stovall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Stovall, Florence, were married Jan. 17 at the Marion Methodist Church.

The official opening of the new Wingerd IGA market on East Main last Friday and Saturday drew large and highly complementary crowds. Pictured at the checkout stations on opening day are K.C. Wingerd, Mrs. Earl Rogers, and Miss Ola Yost.
