It was officially announced this week to Bishop Mark Carroll, Wichita, that Chaplain (Captain) Emil J. Kapaun, Pilsen, died in 1951. Listed as missing since Nov. 2, 1950, returning prisoners of war say Chaplain Kapaun died May 6, 1951.

The residence for the Sisters of St. Luke Hospital is about completed and should be ready for full occupancy by Sept. 1, according to Sister Mary Ferdinand, hospital director.

It is announced today that details have been completed and that Carl Elling has purchased the interest of his partner, Bill Utting. As of Saturday, Aug. 1, the firm Elling and Utting Motor and Implement Co., will be known as Elling Motor and Implement Co.

Mr. and Mrs. Cruz Esparza of Stillwater, Okla., announce the approaching weddings of their daughters, Esther Matilda and Madonna, to Anthony F. Schafers and Victor A. Schafers, sons of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Schafers, formerly of Stillwater, now of Marion.

Guests of the Sub Deb Club Friday evening were newly elected members Ann Davies, Judy Thatch, Anita Kline, Janet Priddle, Carol Allen, Carolyn Merrill, Nila Hoopes, Etta Mae Rempel, Wanda Propp, Lois Hiebert, Carol Schambron and Rose Marie Holub.
