City commissioners this week accepted the large water tank belonging to the Santa Fe Railway as a gift of the railroad. They have not decided as yet where to locate it, but it will probably be somewhere on high ground on the north hill. It can be used as an auxiliary water supply and will virtually double the present storage capacity.

The “Four Chaplains Award” of the District of Columbia Reserve Officers Association was presented posthumously Sunday to Father Kapaun’s parents at Falls Church, Va., site of the association’s memorial. Presented annually, the award honors the chaplain who has been deemed to best exemplify the spirit of the United States chaplains serving God and their fellowmen.

Ethel Brunner asked a number of friends for a party at her home Saturday in celebration of her 12th birthday. Those invited included Janice Weber, Jan Rathert, Joyce Remmers, Carol Conyers, Sue Summervill, Deanna Klenda, Juanita Kelsey and Margie Winters.

Pupils of Dickerson School put on a Valentine party and puppet show at the school Friday afternoon. Mothers who attended were Mrs. Carl Bass, Mrs. Frank Richmond, Mrs. Elmer Leppke, Mrs. Henry Kline, Mrs. Arthur Hamm, Mrs. Leslie Williams, and Mrs. Ernest Thompson. Mrs. Gene Atterberry is teacher at Dickerson School.
