A number of important actions taken by the city commission during the past two weeks include appointments made for the various city offices. Those appointed were: Fred Allen, city clerk; Beatrice McKibbin, assistant clerk; Roger Morse, attorney; Lonnie Tidwell, treasurer; Fred Knackstedt, fire chief; Jay Hargett, police judge; and Earl Pankratz and Harry Mott, marshals.

J.B. Miesse and Jerry Tuell arrived home Monday from a trip to Old Mexico that took them to Monterrey and other points.

Mrs. Theodore Longhofer entertained with a dinner party Tuesday evening in honor of her daughter Theodora’s birthday. Places were marked for Wilma Geis, Donna Rose Pankratz, Thelma Jean Seibel, Herb Regier, Harry Koslowsky, Donnie Longhofer, and Mr. Longhofer.

A pottery shower complimenting Patsy Harris was given by friends Saturday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Ella Socolofsky

The high school students who attend the Methodist Church were entertained at a breakfast Tuesday morning. Seniors attending included Aline Winkley, Roger Richmond, Ronnie Post, Janet Holub, Marlys Rupp, Harold Shields, Karen Brodhead, John Childs, Ginger Price, Don Klein, Shirley Magathan, Donna Williams, and Jerry Griffin.
