A new partnership arrangement of the Marion and Herington livestock sales companies is announced this week. Ownership and management of the new combined operation is held by Wm. Schnell, H. Irvin Christiansen, C.C. Wendt, Merrill Christiansen and Ted Haefner.

The Beard Memorial awards given each year to a high school senior boy and girl for courtesy were presented this year to Joan Kline and John Childs. The award is given in memory of Mrs. Mary Beard, wife of a Presbyterian minister who started the Community Guild.

Judy Coons and Judy Thatch received word last week that they have received scholarships for the music camp to be held June 20-August 1 on the campus of the University of Kansas. Lenore Wheeler will go to a music camp on the Hays College campus beginning August 7.

Weddings reported in this issue are those of Barbara Mott and David Leppke Jr., May 15; Rose Marie Vlk and Harold Vinduska, May 25; and Barbara Moffitt and Lt. James S. Kendall, May 29.

Misses Wilma Geis, Florence Hefley, Carole Schlehuber, Donna Rose Pankratz and Theodora Longhofer had dinner at Kingfisher’s Inn Friday honoring the birthday of Donna Rose. Later the girls went to the Longhofer home to watch television.
