Norris Grain Co. elevator at Durham was purchased last week by the Farmers Coop Grain Association of Durham.

Mr. and Mrs. “Brownie” Schroer report over 500 visitors registered at the Western Auto Store opening on Friday. Louis Robertson received the prize of an electric iron; Joe Hein, a plastic swimming pool and beach ball; and Mrs. Wesley Summervill, a spinning reel.

Larry Bratton celebrated his 7th birthday Saturday by having a line party at the Kaw followed by ice cream and cake at the Bratton home. Guests included Tommy Bartel, Rickey Henry, Johnny Bailey, Dickie Maggard, Roger Cavender, Sherman Kelsey, Ronnie King and Bobby Mays.

Rosse B. Case took top honors with a score of 77 in the first flight of the golf tournament held Sunday at the Marion Country Club. Dr. T.C. Ensey took second flight honors with 80. Longest drive was chalked up to Dave Montgomery Sr., on No. 5 and closest tee shot on No. 3 by R. Case.

Members of the 1922 and 1923 graduating classes will gather at the Country Club Sunday afternoon for a reunion. There will be between 50 and 60 members of the groups back for a visit, along with many former teachers. Kingfisher’s Inn will serve a fried chicken dinner to the group at five-thirty.
