Ruby Schmidt purchased Linda’s Lunch from Linda Lipps Sept. 1 and has taken over operation of the café. From now on, it will be known under the former original name of DelMar Café.

Two outstanding photographs by Marion’s photographer, Leslie Broadstreet, were accepted for hanging and given a meritorious award at the annual National Photographers Association convention in Chicago last week. The pictures were a portrait study of Earl Magathan and the boxing picture of two young boys, Max Rector and Randy Broadstreet.

Jan Rathert celebrated her 12th birthday Sept. at a party given at her home. The following were guests: Sue Ann Bratton, Karen Thole, Lou Esther Wheeler, Diana Vinduska, Lucinda Hauser, Joyce Remmers, Janice Weber, Ethel Brunner, Dorothy Hedrick, Ruth Muck, and Bess Haizlip.

Robert R. Brooks, cashier of Farmers and Drovers National Bank, has just returned from attending a two-week residence session of the School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Weddings reported in this issue included those of Florence Ruth Hefley, Hillsboro, and J.C. Ehrlich, Marion, Sept. 2; Bertha Otte, Lincolnville, and Wayne Hubbard, Wilmore, July 10; and Genevieve Krch, Pilsen, and Wesley Pletcher, Rosalia, Aug. 26.
