J.D, Ferrell’s famous Palomino “Kansas Gold” will lead the Old Settlers’ parade this coming Friday, bringing to the annual event a mount which has been ridden in all the major parades and horse shows of the nation.

Pictures of attractive new homes continue this week with one of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Conyers and family. Constructed by Clarence, his brother Glenn and their father James, the home is located at 805 Maple and is next to the new Conyers greenhouse.

“Thru the Years” was the theme of the annual Community Guild banquet Tuesday evening. The theme progressed from the year 1925, when it was organized, to the present time. A number of high school students participated in the program.

Local football fans will be well pleased with the new “tick-away” electric scoreboard recently installed at the Marion High School athletic field.

The public seems to be responding cheerfully and well to the fund appeal of the Marion County Historical Museum through the current sale of buttons. A fund of at least $500 is sought to make possible the purchase of more display cabinets, and to otherwise carry on the modest plans of the museum.

The Marion High band has accepted the invitation to appear at the State Fair in Hutchinson Wednesday.
