Dwight A. Nesmith, industrial engineer from the experiment station at Kansas State College, was in Marion this week to set up an extensive industrial survey of the city. This type of survey forms a very valuable help in presenting a clear, accurate picture to industries contemplating new plants in the state.
Bud Pierce, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Christmas decoration committee, has announced street decorations will be started the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Among those attending Parents’ Day at Emporia State Teachers College were Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hiebert whose son, Robert, is a freshman and Mr. and Mrs. Francis R. Roberts, Donald and Gerald. The Roberts’ son, Paul Wesley, also is a freshman.
The television program, “Crossroads,” which features true stories of all faiths, will dramatize the life of Chaplain Emil J. Kapaun on its nationwide telecast this Friday.
Larry Schlehuber, 17-year-old Marion Warrior center, has been selected by The Wichita Eagle to the “all central Kansas” all-star football team. It is quite an honor to be chosen for this team, as schools of all sizes are in the competition.
Marion Chamber of Commerce is offering 10 cash prizes this year for winners in the annual Christmas home decoration contest.
