Miss Julia Campbell, respected and effective teacher in Marion Elementary School for the past 30 years, retires this year from active teaching with the thanks and appreciation of the entire community for a wonderful service to youth extending through two generations.

Broadstreet’s Moderne Studio will soon move from their location over the Marion Pharmacy to fine new quarters being prepared in the Case building, former location of Jackson’s clothing store.

A 7-ton air conditioner was installed last week in Jackson’s store. The cooler is of sufficient size, engineers say, to make the entire store comfortable, and is of the mechanical circulating water type that does not put moisture into the air.

Two impressive exercises marked graduation day for five boys and three girls of Pilsen Grade School, District 115. The graduates are Gemma Jirak, Lucille Rudolph, Marlene Steiner, Frank Klenda, Robert Makovec, Robert Konarik, Ronald Stika, and Laverne Bina.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Riffel of Lincolnville announce the engagement of their daughter, Marlys Sue, to John Wayne Gutsch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gutsch of Lincolnville.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Darrow are opening a new grocery store at Aulne this Friday and Saturday. The store is located in the old bank building there.
