The State Highway Commission has made a definite decision to locate the state highway shops in this area to a tract of land purchased from Sam Thole, one mile north of Marion’s Main Street on the Cedar Street road. Construction will begin as soon as possible.

Another of the popular student educational tours, participated in for several years by Marion County schools, will be taken March 22. The tour will be a one-day affair, taken by Santa Fe trains to Dodge City for a visit to oil fields, Wright Park, and Boot Hill museum.

Voluntary contributions to the Kiwanis-sponsored Gnadenau church fund now total over $600 and will be presented to the church within the next few days.

Guests included John Minear, Roland Vogel, Warren Gardner, Wade Robertson, James Gilbert, Junior Post, Neal Hoopes, Tom Shirley, Marion Kelsey, and coaches Floyd Yaussi, Ed Frickey, and C.R. Wall.
