Father Vincent Brown, who has served St. Mark Catholic Church in Marion since September 1954 will go to Hutchinson June 10 where he will be pastor of a new parish he will organize. Father Bierberle, who has served the Burns and Spring Branch churches, will be assigned to the Marion church.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Vogt, Enid, Oklahoma, announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Edith Louise, to Arnold Wayne Regier, son of Mrs. Henry Regier, Marion.

Joyce Pientka entertained with a line party to the Kaw Theatre Thursday evening followed by a slumber party at her home. The girls attended the senior breakfast at the lake Friday morning. Joyce’s guests were Betty Mathews, Johnsie Just, and Delores Schafers.

Two miscellaneous bridal showers reported in this issue include one honoring Donna Williams at the home of Mrs. Paul Williams, and the other honoring Kay Navrat at the home of Mrs. Gail Merrill.

A class of 46 was given diplomas from Marion Junior High School May 23 in exercises at the high school auditorium. The program for the evening was given by members of the class. Eileen Pavey, valedictorian, spoke on “Our World Grows Larger.” The subject of salutatorian Karen Jost’s talk was “The Past is a Foundation.”

C.R. Moulton has been employed as an apprentice lineman for the City of Marion. Bill Hammer, who has been employed as an extra workman for the city, is now a regular employee.
