Unless a monster storm of blizzard proportions crops up unexpectedly to prevent it, all the football fans of Marion, Peabody, and surrounding territory will gather at Marion Thanksgiving Day afternoon to witness the annual battle between the high school teams of the two cities.

Marion Junior High boys are hard at work preparing for basketball. Personnel of the “A” team includes Jerry Brose, Donald Seibel, Jack Lais, Marvin Klein, Harold Byram, Larry Johnson, John Summerville, Herbert Bartel, David Wheeler, and Don Burkholder.

Weddings announced in this issue include those of Peggy McCarty and Jerry Hett on Nov. 21; LouJean Nienstedt and Charles A. Nesser on Nov. 16; and Lena Wiseman and Ivan J. Tajchman, Nov. 20.

A “mitten tree” will grow in Marion between now and Dec. 11, according to plans announced by the YWCA division of Community Guild. The tree will be decorated each day with gloves and mittens donated by the community. They will be sent to Miss Elizabeth Wiebe who is doing missionary work at Neustadt in the French zone of occupied Germany,

Seifert Motor Company reports new cars have been delivered to Bill Olsen, Glen Hoover, and Mabel Glazier and a pickup to George Dick of Tampa.
