Two new cases of polio have been reported in Marion County during the last week. Robert Neuwirth, 10 and Robert Holmes, 16, both of Lincolnville, came down with polio on the same day, Nov. 16, and both are in Wichita hospitals.

The Marion Warriors, sparked by Buddy Hannaford, came though a clean, hard fought football game with Council Grove Friday night to emerge victorious and remain at the top of the Cottonwood Valley League. The Warriors will play their final game of the year at Peabody on Thanksgiving Day.

Longhofer Supply announces this week that they have taken over the dealership of Allis Chalmers Farm machinery for Marion. The line was formerly handled by Nelson Super Service that has gone out of the machinery business to concentrate more on Pontiac and GMC sales.

Patsy Hett was chosen “Queen of the Warriors” for the homecoming football game Friday night. Attendants were Nora Zeller and Laura Jane Bredemeier.

Free shows and treats for the kids, decorations from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, and prizes for decorated homes are to be part of Marion’s Christmas program.
