Pictured on the front page are three men, Harry Embree of Peabody and W.S. The three get together at least once a month at the regular meeting of the VFW.

Forty-three Marion High School students made the first six week’s honor roll.

Sarabel Wolf took top honors for the entire school with a perfect record of five A’s. She is a member of the junior class.

Those with four A’s are Marilyn Reh, freshman; Diana Herbert and Shirley Tiemeier, sophomores; Carol Schlehuber and Alice Ward, juniors; and no seniors.

The attractive farm home of Mr. and Mrs. George Thye, east of Marion, was completely destroyed Friday afternoon by a fire which originated with a leaky kerosene stove.
