Work started this week on a fill where a new modern building will go up on the north side of Main St. at the foot of the hill.

It will house a six-room physician’s office for C.R. Magee. This is one of the few remaining lots facing downtown Main St. and long has been considered an excellent site, especially because it faces Central Park.

A high school carnival is planned for Nov. 30 in the high school gymnasium.

Each class has nominated a boy and girl to be voted upon as carnival king and queen. They are freshmen Betty Bartel and J.B. Miesse; sophomores Laura Jane Bredemeier and Don Ecker; juniors Nora Zeller and Dick Bredemeier; and seniors Dorothy McCarty and Kerns Allen.

A new building at the southwest corner of Coble and Main Sts. will soon house McDaris Motors and Machinery, dealers in Oldsmobile cars and Massey-Harris farm machinery.

Personnel will include H.G. and Leroy McDaris, Max Blackwelder, Fred Holub, Paul Hansen, and Orville Strong.

Dorothy Pollitt, Ruth Jo Willming, Viola Thompson, Mrs. W.H. Carpenter, Mrs. Scottie Gound, Mrs. J.P. Hoffman, and Mrs. John Wheeler were among the Marion people who attended a Fred Waring show Sunday afternoon in Wichita.
