Virgil Hoops of Wichita has signed a lease with the City Commission of Marion wherein he has assumed complete management of the Marion Municipal Airport and will provide complete sales and service at the field. He will also give instructions in flying.

L.P. Richter, KBI chief and former Marion County sheriff had an interesting experience last week when he acted as personal bodyguard for Gen. Jonathan M. Wainwright for a week when he toured Kansas cities in the interest of Victory Bond Drive.

V.H. Hackler, former Tampa, Kansas boy and son of Mrs. Viola Hackler, who lives in Tampa, has signed a seven year contract with 20th Century Fox. Hackler, a musician, is married to the former Donna Wood of Boston, now a radio singer. The couple are making their home in Hollywood.

A picture closely resembling Boyd Higgins Jr., who is with the 3rd Marine Division of Guam, appeared in the Nov. 12 issue of Life magazine. Relatives and friends are quite certain of the identification in a picture of a group of Marines being entertained by Joyce Breazeele, USO camp show acrobat.
