90th birthday
celebration
planned
An open house is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 5 at Belmont Blvd. Christian Church, Salina, to celebrate the 90th birthday of Marion native Anita Sly.
The family is requesting no gifts but suggesting that cards might be mailed to her at 1501 E Magnolia Rd No. 21, Salina KS 67401.
She was born Jan. 7, 1935, in Marion to Henry and Ethel Collett and has made her home in Salina since 1959, working at School Specialty Supply and retiring from USD 305’s Instructional Media Center.
She still plays piano, crochets, sings, and participates with Eaglecrest Retirement Center friends in baking, pitch, Wii bowling, and being a member of their wonderful Charming Chimers bell choir.
With her late husband, Kenneth, Anita raised their children — Hollyce, K.D., Colleen, Justin, and Ernestine. She has 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
