’Tis the season for cruisin’

Hillsboro, Peabody plan weekend events

Cruising season officially opens this weekend with a Saturday cruise at Hillsboro and a Sunday cruise at Peabody.

The 2021 season’s first Cruise Downtown Hillsboro will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday featuring music by DJ Mac.

Cruzin’ T-shirts will be sold for $10.

Cash prizes will be given for the most-liked vehicles.

Jessi D. Photography will photograph the cruise.

Hillsboro MB youth will collect food and cash donations for Main Street Ministries.

The Lions Club will serve funnel cakes and other treats.

Old-fashioned soda in bottles will be given away by Supreme Floor.

Peabody Sunday Cruises will launch the 2021 season from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

Peabody Sunday Cruises are held the fourth Sunday of the month April through October.

Peabody Auxiliary ladies will offer Peabody Veterans Memorial shirts and salty snacks.

Booster Club will have a booth selling Monster cookies.

U Knead It Bakery will sell pork chili burritos, loaded breakfast burritos with salsa, and fresh cinnamon rolls.

Porcupine Tea Company will celebrate its second birthday with cake and ice cream.

Sinners and Saints by Cindy Haehn will sell crystal jewelry, bracelets, earrings, headbands, and handmade goat’s milk soap.

Savage Designs by Melissa Richardson will be sell ready-made and custom order jewelry, tumblers and shirts.

Vendor booths can be reserved by calling Linda Martinez at (785) 488-6856 or Linsey Foth at (785) 214-2938. Booth fee is $20. Vendor fees are waived for philanthropic or school groups.

Fees are used to provide flags for Walnut St. and donations to community entities.
